Line of Sight Video
The link to the video below illustrates the line of sight problem created during the 5 million dollar airport expansion project. The aircraft, a Cessna 172, after approximately 2 minutes will become visible (watch for the flashing beacon located on the tail of the aircraft, approximately 8 feet above the ground. The aircraft will be seen moving away from the camera at first then make a 180 degree turn and head directly toward the camera. After traveling approximately 300 feet down the runway the aircraft will completed disappear from view. Be patient, the aircraft will eventually reappear approximately 1000' from the camera located at the end of the newly finished runway extension. The camera is mounted at 5 feet above the runway.
